Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say hello to those in the forums and am looking forward to learning and sharing thoughts on anything fishy.

I am relatively a novice in most things fishy, but have acquired some insight over the years since i was in my teens. I now have my daughter in on the bug, and her tank is better than mine was, with an obvious girly flair from her.

I am just starting off a new tank in our living room, and I am on about day 35. Its my first proper attempt at a planted tank as well with scenery, so still learning, and all feedback welcomed.

thanks for reading, and looking forward to speaking to like minded enthusiasts.
regards

Welcome to the forum, G; always good to see a new face :)

Thanks Mrs Treguard,
although I certainly wish I had a new face, or one not quite as wrinkled lets say.

I thought I would upload some pics of my current 30 day tank

Day 1 build and set up.

Day 6 Cleaned tank, soil, substrate, sand and water added

Day 17 tank levels stable, incrementally a few plants added, and levels maintained

Day 35 tank levels still spot on, checked daily and started to add small amounts of co2, and few fish. levels checked daily

Slowly getting there, but happy to take feedback from more experienced enthusiasts

Glad to have you onboard and your tank looks very good!

Hope you enjoy the forum!

A fellow Lido owner! Nice aquascape, love the tree! Welcome

Thanks all,
It is the first aquascape and live planted tank i have done. I spent months reading, and drawing pictures. I don't have a big garden so I figured why not bring one indoors.

The tree is actually two pieces of drift wood that I cut moulded together then steeped in a large container outside for a month.

As for the lido tank, I love it, i nearly purchased the aquapets 620L, but i preferred this one in the end.

I have purchased the pressurised can version of co2, and would be interested in other peoples experience. Actually i will have a read through the forums as there is likely reams of info on co2.

Fish Herder - which lido have you got?

I've got the Lido 120, bought 2nd hand. I ripped out the internal filter and use an external Eheim. I also use DIY yeast CO2 on it. I'm a fan of the Lido due to the size and relatively small footprint, it's a nice tank!

By the way you'll find our names in the blue line, so I'm Daize - 'Fish Herder' is just a forum title

Gorgeous tank you have! Hope you enjoy the forum :)

Daize, my apologies, too much looking at spreadsheets when I should have been working and typing in a rush...

Wow, fantastic tank. Very clean and very well done. I'm excited to see how the plants grow in the "tree".
