Meh, i'm ill leave me alone ^_^
But yeah you're right.

LOL

Thats perfect though, we have almost exactly the same wpg. Same dosing, same tank size, same water.
Will let you know what ph, gh and kh my tap and tank water is when i get the kits.
Should be very very interesting.

My plants seem to be doing marvelous at the moment, im sure my swords were pearling last night. Unless it was just c02 bubbles not o2 bubbles?

How long you keeping your lights on for?... stands a chance they were pearling m8.. good sign :)

Should be a nice comparison, will have to see how it turns out :p

Was planning on keeping mine on a 6hr photoperiod for the first 6 weeks then gradually move up then drop one of the bulbs off and have it eventually around a 10 hr photo period... apparently this way should help prevent algae better :)

probs makes sense :) I misunderstood. Good job I put a little type of disclaimer at the beginning

Disposable bottles have a smaller threaded par at the top so you need a regulator that fits disposable bottles. You can however buy an adaptor to screw into it which allows a standardbottle/FE to work on it if you so choose in the future

My Reg was from WeldUK-second one down.

Bottles from here:

The needle valve and solenoid came from Lunapet/Aquarianversand on ebay:
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CO2-Feinnadelventil-...:0|293:1|294:30" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CO2-Feinnadelventil-...:0|293:1|294:30</a>

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CO2-magnetic-valve-s...:0|293:2|294:25" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CO2-magnetic-valve-s...:0|293:2|294:25</a>

You unscrew the little piece on the reg, the needle valve screws straight into the hole, connect hose and then attach the solenoid to the hose, attach hose the other side 2 and away to your NRV/Bubble counter /diffuser.

You will need to cut the cable on the solenoid and put a UK plug on it or use adaptors.

I wasn't having a go at you r.e. the kids. Jsut if you were to have a lock on there you would be able to pur everything fish related in the cabinet :)

Dear All

My wife and i have been running our tank for a couple of years now and started putting plants in the tank around 2 years ago. initally we had some success with plants growing well but then had a setback with a spate of black brush algae and plants not doing well but have overcome our problems now we feel.

We now wish to start improving the plants and are have started ordering the stuff liked in the post above.

one question what size co2 tubing do we need and do we need any other sizes to connect to diffuser and bubble counter?

cheers

Glenn

They seem to have stopped doing black. I get my clear from Hong Kong. lol

You want proper CO2 hose and not airline hose because the soft airline hose lets some CO2 out. The CO2 hose is rock hard and requires heating to get it onto diffusers and the like.

Can be a pain to remove from the equipment (cleaning the diffuser each week) so it is often better to join a piece of the soft stuff via an airline connector to the hard stuff so you can get it off the diffusor each week. This bit will be under water anyway.
