Hi all.
I have got a bunch off Java moss on its way. And I am wondering if anyone has got any advise on how I could control its growth. I.e small clump in one place in the tank.

Thanks AL

Attach it to a chunk of wood or rock.  Sometimes I do this by gently sticking a bit of it in a crevice, but you can also use black thread.  It will take hold on the object.  If any bits do break off, as they sometimes will, it is fairly easy to pick them out.  As the moss grows--and it can take a while to settle into new conditions--if it starts getting larger than you want just snip off bits.  I gently tug at a few strands, which tends to thin the clump leaving a more natural appearance rather than cutting them off.

Thank you fish crazy I will try that. Do you know apron how long java moss takes to grow

It is generally speaking a slow-growing plant.  Low light plants usually are.  I cannot remember how long it takes to become established, I've just never kept track.  But once it does, and if it likes where it is, it can grow quite fast.
