Sorry for the very basic question on a very basic plant but I am new to real plants!

I am currently trying to attach java moss to a bit of slate and bogwood. I tied it down with some thread two weeks ago, it seems to have stuck on the bogwood but still needs more time on the slate.

However the moss is not the luscious green I have seen in photos. It has gone kind of brown at the tips and looks a bit... well manky to be honest. It definatly has grown a bit though.

Is this normal or have I done something wrong?

It happened to me, whether it happens to other people too I don't know.... But parts of it went a bit brown. It is a slowish grower so will take time to go nice and green.

no, Si is right, its a slow grower. I got a load off of Supercoley and have used what i needed, the rest has gone in my propagator along with some Riccia and the Riccia has gone crazy, the moss is still the same. It also doesn't need much light.
