Java Moss

hi i have ordered some java moss when it arrives how to i attach it to bog wood?? cheers :good:

I've been reading up on this as I plan to do the same to a resin rock. Seems the best way is to tie it on there with cotton thread. The moss willeventually take hold and the cotton will rot and slowly disappear.

I just use some fishing line to tie mine. Really anything non-polluting will work fine.

I agree with OldMan47. I tied my plants to my drift wood with fishing. Cut it off a month or so later (i was overseas for a month) and it holds fine.

Wrap it around as much as u can to hold it nicely. Itll look ugly at first but will soon grow out and look great :) I dont think you realy need to cut off the fishing line, but i did just to test it.

Goodluck,
Indir

will java moss grow in any tank or is fert and co2 needed and good light?

i grow java moss without co2 or high lightingt fine though it grows a tad slower
regards scot :)

I grow some in bare bottomed tanks that don't have any lights. I had a crisis and quickly set up 2 tanks to hold some unexpected fish. When I noticed fish in one of the tanks dropping fry I grabbed a handful of java moss and just dropped it into each of the tanks. Since then, both clumps of java moss have been growing nicely with just the light that comes through my north facing window and the bit of light from other tanks in the room. It is also the only java moss that I have that never shows any sign of getting covered in algae. I have come to the conclusion that it will grow unless the room itself is too dark.
