Java Moss

Can java moss be left free floating? or does it have to be pinned down as i dont have a hair net at the moment to attach it to my slate

it doesn't float.....

i had mine in a sandwiche bag for about a week and a half and it was fine.

another option - if it's in a ball just lay a few stones on it to weigh it down until you get the slate. mine has attached to gravel before.

Its not in a ball.. its just a sandwich bag full of stuff. I have the slate. Just nothing to tie it down with

i tied mine down with just this cotton like thread (not cotton as that disintergrates)i found in a sewing tin and it's ok.

i would just wait then until you get what ever your using to tie it down.

Bump, why not just tie it to something with cotton.

Ive just used some thread i found in my mums sewing box. I hope its ok

I tied all my moss with cotton. By the time it rots the moss will have takento what ever you tied it to.
