Day 28, nearly a month now!
So far I have learned that putting a few bits in a net is boring! I have added more moss, and I have nearly killed the lot with "No Planaria" which could be renamed "no moss"!
Anyway, finally! I have started to see growth!!
When I fist started the wall i had a few of the original bits coming forward out of the wall, what I have noticed is that these didnt do much! I have suddenly in the last day noticed bright green tips all pointing out of the netting. The new bright green tips seem completely different to the old stuff which looks a lot darker and sits behind the net.
The new tips arent here and there but seem to be suddenly all over the older original moss. The stones and logs in the tank now have the bright tips too, they arent too bushy but you instantly recognise them as new growth and it is the best feeling to finally see everything is heading in the right direction! I am actually excited to see what happens next!
I dont know if it is the because the tank has suddenly stabilised or if it was the introduction of a new super bright light last week but all of my plants have suddenly gone wild this week!
Here is an image of my java moss wall! - The cam hasnt picked up too much detail but as you walk past it you can see darker areas where the growth is in front of the net, it almost looks pitted.
To highlight my point about the plants suddenly going wild! here is another photo!
The grass has long offshoots in every direction, these have grass growing off of them, i thought this happened below the gravel but these are all above and covering ground fast! Perhaps someone can let me know if this is normal?
Also my Java Fern which I thought was dead, has started having shoots, they are bright and cover the entire top of the plant!
My crypts have gone wild, they were a few long leaves but sudenly there are hundreds of them around the base of every plant, it creates a small jungle feel!
I am hoping that now I am past the initial plant settling in stage, there could be a great month of growth to come!
EXCITED!
