I'll get one later.Really need a picture. Java moss needs to be placed correctly, or no growth will occur.
If you placed it in a corner, or mixed in with some sort of other low-laying plant, it will not grow. Java Moss needs a mixture of shade and light to flourish. You can't just "throw it in" and expect it to grow.I'll get one later.
How would you recommend placing it? How would you recommend NOT placing it? Everything I have read suggests that I have done it correctly
Not in a corner. Not mixed with other low plants. No floaters. Partial shade and light. If you placed it in a corner, or mixed in with some sort of other low-laying plant, it will not grow. Java Moss needs a mixture of shade and light to flourish. You can't just "throw it in" and expect it to grow.
Do you have any floating plants? What condition is it in? (Brown, green, mixed, new shoots, etc.)
I need pictures to help you further. Close ups of the moss and a far-away of the tank. (Whenever you find time...)Not in a corner. Not mixed with other low plants. No floaters. Partial shade and light.
There's the key. If it was in the front, it will get more light. (Not only from the tank light, but also from the room it's in)front left
That's true, but java moss is famous for still being fine in low light conditions. The moss I put into my dad's tank is in the middle of the tank, but he'd covered his tank light with some film "to dim the light" so it's so dark in there, only java fern, java moss and a few sickly looking crypts can survive. There's the key. That is why I said it grows better with floating plants, lol...That's true, but java moss is famous for still being fine in low light conditions.
