Iwagumi Setup (Not Completely Happy With It)

Where do you get your rocks? The tank's really looking amazing now!
I live in the prairies in Canada, so I don't see many nice rocks around...

I got them from a place called 'Maidenhead aquatics' based in the UK, they always have a good selection of rocks in stock.

Cheers steve :good:

Now to get crackin on the other one.... I've got the riccia on order :D

i'm gonna sound like a right 'rock moving moaning kill joy', but i would move your larger rock to the left and move the smaller rock foward just a bit. The larger rock is the one people will focus on first, the othe 2 which are the second larger should sit around the larger one to make it stand out more. You need to be hitting the golden ratio with the big rock, which is 1.618...
in laymans terms the big rock needs to be placed

where the red line meets the blue line.

if you get me. Now if you do that with the bigger rock, i promise you, you will create a massive wow factor. It will please the eye.

BTW, the tank looks good and you can do what you want with it, but this above is the true nature of Iwagumi.

Haha you moner!

not at all ian, im still learning all this... any your constructive criticism WILL be taken on board!

Just one thing though.... which tank do you mean?

Both tanks really, its the same for every tank though, whether it be Iwagumi or a Jungle set up. There needs to be a focus point at the angle in the little pic above.

^^have a read of this thread, it'll explain things regrding the 'golden ratio'. If you looks at the pics in the thread, the focal point of all of those tanks are not central, they are all aroung the golden ratio. This is what makes the tank pleasing on the eye.

Looks good so far. Love pygmies. They are too cute. Agree with ianho regarding the rocks. I explain some of the basic princples of Iwagumi in that aquascaping thread he linked to. Both tanks have the making of good iwagumi, you just gotta work on rock placement.
