Ive Got Some New Fish....

They've already spawned and the female is already holding LOL...

Anyway, i bought a trio (1m/2f) of F1 Pseudotropheus sp. "Elongatus Usisya" about four days ago. They've settled in really well and even found themselfs a nifty little cave... Well like ive already mentioned, they've spawned already and one female is holding. They're only young though, especially the female. I think shes still at the 'juvie' stage. The male is just starting to colour up properly. And the other female (thats not holding) is the same size as the male, much bigger than the other female he's choosen to spawn with. Pics below...

It went on for ages... on and off. This is towards the end, he wants more but dont think she can fit anymore in LOL



Hope they work. Im quite excited tbh because ive seen plenty of spawning action before, but its the first time ive had a female holding. Im not expecting any babies, with it being her first time, plus shes young n'all... i dont plan on taking her out either.. im just going to let whatever happens, happen.

Lol.. yea it says on their profile they're 'Mildly Aggressive'. The females arnt aggressive at all, neither is the male really but he will stick up for himself.

When i fed them earlier this afternoon, she came rushing to the top with the others and I thought she had spit'em out to grab some food but no lol she just came to see what the fuss was about, never bothered with the food.

Max growth is 4inch, and a standard 4 foot long tank would be fine for them.

Ok, just a lil update : She's been holding for 3 and 1/2 weeks now and i checked on her this morning to find her mouth was empty... i have no idea what shes done with them wether she's released them and they're hiding ?? or simply just ate them ?? who knows ..

If you're lucky you might see a fry or two that survived, or she couldn't wait and swallowed them. Either way, as enthusiatic of a breeder as she obviously is, I'm sure you'll have plenty of fry in the future.

By the way, love that pic of her holding, she just looks so irritated.
