I'm well aware that Tiger barbs are nippy little so and so's, and a few weeks ago upped my shoal size to 12 (mixed tigers and green tigers) as one was getting too big for his boots. All was going well, no issues with the harlequin rasboras they share the tank with or the pepper corys so I thought I'd add to the numbers.
I got it wrong. So wrong and boy do I feel awful.
Eight rather lovely cardinal tetras. Immediately on release two were ripped apart. Got the other six out a and into a bucket (yes I know only thing I could think of 'in the moment').
Rushed out, got a 26 litre tank and filled it with water from the big tank. Have put floss from big tank filter into brand new one. Just hoping they survive being 'in cycle' and trying to minimise that all I can...
That's it now. Barbs only in the big tank.
Sooo... What to put with the 6 cardinals in their weeny tank (if they survive cycling) when it's settled? Bearing in mind it's small. Any ideas?
