my tropical tank holds 70litres of water, and it has reached the time of year when i need to think about getting a heater. what kind of heater would be best for my tank? can anyone advise me about wattage?

VISITHERM. I swear by them. 100w would be fine.

lol i was just trying to suss this out myself, i need one for my tank (mines packed up) and wondered what size - it is the time of year!!

Agree, I remember the guideline as 5w per 1 USgallon, so you'd need a 100w heater.

A 1 watt per litre heater is about right. If you can find a 75 watt heater it would be just barely enough but a 100 watt would give you a bit of margin for a cooler than usual room or similar variation.
