Is Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) Ok for cleaning the inside of the tanks not stocked?
just got a big bottle left after cleaning some mb's and sound cards

Maybe, but I would be sceptical incase it had a detremental effect on the silicone sealant. Better off sticking to vinegar IMHO.

Just saw this - know its a bit old but thought Id get my word in. Careful with alcohols. Fine on glass tanks, wont damage silicone although would "dry it out" if exposed for any length of time. BUT DONT use on plastics.

Some plastics go hazey when alcohols are used on them.

I wouldn't let any type of alcohol ANYWHERE NEAR aquarium sealant. If there's some stubborn marks, try cutting a lemon in half and rubbing that on. The acid should move most things.
