Just wanted to know what you experienced guys think about this combo of fish and plants that I would like to keep.

I don't think the plants should be much of an issue, so much as the fish. Would they?

FISH
-------
2x Rope Fish
4x Angel Fish
2x Pleco
1x Betta
4x Ram Cichlids

PLANTS
-------
Ambulia (Limnophila indica)
Cabomba Green (Cabomba carolina)
Ludwigia, Narrow Leaf(Ludwigia palustris)
Rotala Magenta (Rotala macrandra v. 'narrow leaf')
Wisteria (Hygrophila difformis)
Rotalla Wallichii

If you are getting plecos for algae control I would reconsider....(They poop way to much, and algae control with Zigs EI works great for me)

If you are getting plecos because you like them, then that is cool....

And, I feel that would be overstocking when the fish are "full" grown.

Im getting the plecos because i like them, and they have the added benefit of cleaning the tank :)

But i do like them, they are cool fish even if they are little poop factories.

And i dont think that the rope will eat the betta, I used to keep these 2 fish together in the past and they got along fine. I do know it WILL eat neon tetras....ropeys really like the neons

advice??

Im assuming since no one else has really said anything that this is a decent combo of fish to keep?
not over stocking?

I wll be saving for a larger tank as soon as this one is coomplete.
I can buy a larger tank, (120 Gallon) Stand, Hood and another 2213 filter and be pretty much set to upgrade.

You have been advised that the betta is a bad idea, that the angels could end up fighting, the rams will end up as rope fish food, and that the tank will be overstocked when everyone is fully grown. Aside from a concession to a bigger tank in the future, you've not really altered your plan at all.

Perhaps that is discouraging others from contributing further? Were I you, I would be observing that the responses saying "yes that'll be fine" are conspicuous by their absence.

I was just saying that I havent had problems with a rope fish eating a betta, because i had a ropefish in the past, with a betta, and they got along fine.

I didnt say i was still going to get one, Like i mentioned these are only considerations, and not definite yet. I also had angels before, Now i dont know if any of those angels i had at the time paired up, but during the time i had them, they were also peaceful fish and kept to themselves when they were following things moving past outside the tank :)

But i dont really know anything about pairing angels either.

I was hoping for opinions from many people, and possibly even info as to the certain habits of particular fish.

I feel that if one comes and says "if you do this, this will happen" its more of a "do it my way cause i know and you dont" sort of thing.
If others back up that statement and/or can provide facts it helps one make a more educated disicion.

If you want a betta get him his own 10g tank. They don't really care for roommates I've learned over the past year.

Ropefish will really need somthing more like 80gals ideally, there are thousands of types of plecs though so its hard to say wether they will be suitable for your tank or not without you specifically saying which types you are interested in  . I take it you are talking about a male betta? Male bettas don't do well in tanks with powerful filtration, their tails are often too heavy and fragile for them, but you would really need some decent filtration in a 55gal so i would say no to male bettas- the angels will also make short work of a betta.

Ive got a Eheim 2213 Filter, but im using the spraybar and uptake tube from the Pro II series. (Installation set 1 & 2)
The (greatly) increased size of these tubes compared to the included 2213 tubes, reduces the pressure of the water coming from the spray bar, so there isn't too much current in the tank.
My last tank i had a trickle filter with a bio-wheel, so i cant assume that even my weakend current now wouldn't cause a problem for the betta.

About the angels and betta.... I see what your saying, but when i had these fish in the past, why did they seem to get along??
I never seen any problems between the 2 species, and i had 5 angels.
was that just a fluke, or because the angels hadn't paired up??

I must know more :)
I not only want a nice looking decorative tank, but i want my fish to be happy and healthy and flourishing with colours.

It was indeed a fluke you had angels that got along with a betta. Bettas are not good tankmates for any of the fish you listed, aside from the plecs. A single betta would be quite happy living alone in anything 2.5 gallons and up though, so you could quite easily keep one by himself :)
Are you aware that rope fish can get 3' long eventually? This is why you are being told that it will eventually eat the betta and rams... their mouths get quite large, and anything that fits in it is fair game

EDIT: Also, if you don't want to get a bigger tank for the ropefish in the future, a senegal bichir would be a good alternative. They have the same prehistoric oddball appeal, but only get about 12" tops.

Why would you want to stick a betta in with those other fish? Everybody already said theymight not get along, but I just think he would look completely out of place....

I would suggest going with an ancistrus or two rather than a pleco for that size tank.

And as previsouly suggested, the tank might also be too small for the rope fish (Although personally I did not think they would eat any of your other fish - mine when I had it never bothred anything). Go with a bichir - but read up on their temperament first before considering putting them in the tank with the other you are considering.

Regarding the plecs, I’m not sure it's a good idea to put them in this size tank. Depending on the type, they can get to over a foot a half long. I had to return mine to my lfs recently as he got too big, and I’ve got a 260L tank (He grew to over a foot in length in just over a year). I think, plecs deserve at least a 5-6 foot plus (400L plus) tank due to their size.

As far as angels go, I have two at present and they don't bother anyone else in my tank. They fight with each other from time to time, but so far that's all.

I would also concur with the other posts, in that a betta shouldn't be put in.
