Hey.... One of the guppies at school is pregnant. I wanna take her home, so I can get her fry. I have to bring my teacher a snail, so I thought of this, too. Would it be safe to keep my pregnant platy in the fry tank with the guppy? Thanks!

If you allow the Guppy and Platy to freeswim with the fry, you can expect to lose some of your guppy (and platy) fry and the number you lose will depend on the density of the plants you supply for the fry to hide in.... Hornwort floating plants are ideal for this purpose.

Well, my teacher didn't allow me to borrow and take care of her for at *least* even a few days, so it's a no-go. DX

I brought in the snail, though; maybe once the guppy fry actually *come* and I can *get them* then I can take some home! ^^; :D

why not see if your teacher will allow you to take in a breeding net to put the guppy in at the school tank, then allow you to take home the fry.
