Is This Ornament Safe?

I have a cave ornament in my tank that has Ich that none of my other fish are using. I cleaned it out with very hot water about 10 minutes ago and how it's sitting out drying. Is it safe to put with my betta. If not, how long until it is.

If it's possible, 'boiling' it might be a better variation. It seems people often boil wood and similar items in order to make them safe to put into tanks, so I would assume that is one of the safest options you could do. Very hot water might not be enough to kill any nasties, I would imagine the hotter the better for this - boiling would probably be best.

I've used extremely salty water to clean a tank before. I just used aquarium salt and gave it a good scrub down with plenty of hot water. It's safe on all fronts! Now, scientifically speaking, I have no idea if it kills everything but I liked that it was safe and simple.

Well it's been drying for about 40 hours (Almost 2 days). Would it be good yet. The tank only had a mild infestation.

If it's dry, it should be safe. I don't think ich survives without water.

Maybe just let it sit in the hot water for awhile, they cant survive on high temperatures or without a host after the eggs hatch, as far as I remember.

Well I'm gonna soak it in hot water right now and add it in because it's been sitting out for about a week.

Ich cannot survive being dried out. If you have thoroughly dried your ornament, it will not be the cause of ich in another tank. If you did not treat the tank that you took it from, you may still experience ich in that tank.

Oh I added it yesterday. Seems fine for now after drying for almost a week.
