While i wait for a co2 diffuser to get here i decided to try this...

As you can see, co2 is going through that tubing and into the filter outlet where it is blasted around the tank in tiny bubbles.

My question is, is that actually doing anything or not?

I wouldnt have thought so the idea is to keep the gas in the water column as let water pass over it. an upturned glass tumbler with an airline feeding it would be of more use. But you would have to regulate this somehow.

i done the same thing for 3 months, until i got liquid Co2 :)

i put it into my powerhead and the Co2 came out in tiny little bubbles!

in my tank i have 2 powerheads, the Co2 one is directed in the flow of the other powerheads flow.. reulting in bubbles stay in my tanks water for a very very long time unless some reach the top; it worked okay for me =]
