Is This Cruel?

About that 8 gallon minimum... what about us breeders???

You saying that every single one of our hundreds of fry need a 8 gallon. Its like more easier for us to keep them. Imagine daily 100% changes on 100's of 8 gallons.

MODS please if you see this stop it before it gets out of hands :)

i dont see how its cruel, i just measured it and its 5.75" diameter and 5" tall. its like a room if i were 2.5 inches tall. this betta has been alive for about 2.25 years, so im pretty sure im doing something right.

I dont think its cruel, to keep them in less that 1 gallon containers, my friend kept one in a one gallon betta tank in his bathroom and its been alive for 5 yrs

"MODS, please stop this before it gets out of hand"????

Stop it so you don't have to hear things you don't like?

Look, I know people keep them in smaller containers and will continue to do so, and will justify it however they like... all I am saying is, I think it is wrong.

I just feel the fish would like some room to move.

I have a 10UK Gallon tank, and have got to say I wanted a betta, but couldn't cope with keeping a betta in such a small space.

For breeders, I think it is fine for the small containers assuming that it is not a permenant home and that the betta would be either sold or moved to a bigger a tank.
