Is Romaine Heart Lettuce Safe?

my BN pleco is not eating algae tablets for some reason, might be because my ravenous cichlids go at it and drag it all over the place, even my bichir has a o now and then. We have some Romanian Heart Lettuce in the fridge, but that's about it, for all I know would this stuff be alright to drop in the tank to see if he'll eat it? I don't know anything about lettuce. I don't like it.

Romain is probably the best. Used to feed it all the time from a veggie clip.

Iceberg is not safe. It is to much water and zero nutritional value.

fruit and veg are better and more nutritional alternatives to lettuce. I feed my BN....

boiled baby corn
sliced pepper (uncooked)
apple
boiled broccoli

.....he loves it all. You could try other things, I just try the above because it's commonly in the fridge.
