Is Nitrate Toxic To Humans?

The nitrate from the water of my tank is it toxic to humans in anyway?

Both forms of nitrate in concentrations at aquarium level are generally safe if you consume them.

Nitrite or Nitrate (III) at elevated levels can be problematic as it oxidizes iron atoms in the haemoglobin.

no i didint but i was a bit conserned because i have a 1yr old baby brother and i wanted to know if its dangerouse to him in anyway...And dont worry he usually doesint have acces to my tank to poke my tank...Thanks for replys tho

The only damage that can come to your to your baby brother from your tank is if he falls in or pulls it over onto himself. When my kids were toddlers, I made sure all my tank stands attached to the wall at the top

Nitrate and nitrites come as compounds, the toxicity depends entirely on the compound, the ones found in fish tanks can be harmful(Sodium Nitrate, Nitric Acid) but they're so diluted they'd be completely harmless to your toddler.
