just had a powercut for 2 hours - wrapped my tank in blankets etc - kept the temp just over 22degrees

is my tank going to cycle again - obviously filter/heater was off

ive dont a 60%ish water change to get the temp up asap........

advice???

ive not tested yet btw.....

thanks :)

the power was ment to be off for 5 hours +

isnt is said the good bacteria dies off within an hour though???

if its only been off for two hours then you shouldn't really notice much of a change, if your unlucky then you may get a small spike but the bacteria should be able to recover quite quickly and prevent any issues

Well even if the temp dropped to 22d there would still be some bacteria. most bacteria can lye dorm et for a few days.

*woop* thanks :)

will test in bit - and keep an eye on things

was scared i was going to loose my babies!!! lol

what do i do if it happens again????? how do i back things up - is that even possible?

thanks again

The die off rate on our bacteria is almost as slow as they are to grow. It takes several hours to make much difference at all unless the filter is allowed to dry out.
