Hi,

New around here and only setup up my tank not long ago.
i got a tank with male guppies. One female stays in the corner all the time constantly. got a feeling that it might be pregnant.
I've attached two pictures, so if u could have your opinion if you don't mind.
Apologies also if I've posted in the wrong section.

Thanks!

Well, if she isn't, she very soon will be.

The maths of livebearers is male+female+water=babies.

However, you obviously have very little cover in your tank, so the chances are that all the fry will be predated upon.

The black spot under her belly will grow if she is and theyll get a squarish shape when theyre close. They will eat their fry though so if you have another tank put her in there then take her out once she has them

YOu could well find yourself overrun with fry very soon. Each female will drop 30+ fry every 4-6 weeks. Do you have the tank capacity to support that level of increase? Do you have a relaible outlet for the fry who will consistently take that number of fry from you? Or is it better to let nature do its thing?

aah i'm learning something new every day. ok Will have to get a breeding tank and maybe another tank spare tank for things like this. i've actually taking a liking to this fish stuff.... makes a change from fishing lol

Question...is she the only female guppy in the tank?  How many males to females do you have?  If she is the only one.. she will be stressed out soon enough from being chased by the males constantly.

She is the only female guppy I can see in the picture.

I currently keep female guppies only, but when I kept them together I had 1 male per 4 females... but that also equals a lot of babies. If you only have the one male and one female... really depends on your male's personality. Some are more followers and some are more pesterers. If he is pestering intensely she will get stressed, if he just follows she may be fine. In my experience a lot less of them are just followers.

I googled and realized i need more females. Just been to the fish shop i got my guppies from and they are out of females. will have to travel across town tomorrow to get some more
