I recently bought three female fighters, and put them in my 55L (11Gal) tank with my male fighter.

He has been on his own for nearly 4 months, but i have recently added some platies and silver mollies...

Anyway, i added the females and he went funny and kept chasing them. I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour or not, so i moved him out for fear of the girls getting hurt.

Well i put him into a spare tank i had, but it's only 11L (about 2.5Gal), and i am worried he will be depressed. My boyfriend is telling me he will be just as happy, but i am not so sure. The tank is filtered, heated and has ornaments and places for him to hide.

Will be he ok...and happy?????

Thanks for the advice xxx

He will be as happy as larry in a smaller tank, he will probably build his mum a bubble nest as he doesnt want to go in with those horrid girls again!

lol thanks...don't know why he reacted so bad to them, i was told he's only harrass them if he wanted to mate

male/female bettas don't make happy tankmates.
if you'd left them together there's a high chance the females would have become fed up of his constant interest and killed him.

he'll be perfectly happy alone!

As a rule never ever have male and females together, either he will kill them or they will kill him. It's a good thing you realised he wasn't happy like that, glad he is happy now :good:

ok thanks guys...now i can be happy...i was getting worked up thinking he was unhappy in the small space....cheers
