Introducing New Gbr Mate

I had a bonded pair of gbr's that spawn well for me unfortunately, the male died. Its been about 6-8weeks since he went, im picking up a new male this weekend and i was after tips for a safe and favorable introduction... im guessing i should rearrange the tank at the very least but should i just put him in there and cross my fingers or do some kind of slow introduction..? if so how?

I've always just added the male a week or two after the female. Never been any issues.
