Internal Parasites?

Don't know anything about hardness i'm afraid.
Do a thread in tropical discussion about the hardness.

Seems the hardness was a red herring. Several people with endlers in hard water doing perfectly fine.
This latest one is still with us. Hiding a bit but often swimming about perfectly well with the others.
He looks like a shark with this wierd indentation under his chin. Still haven't seen him eat the food I put in, but he's still fat and seems perfectly well otherwise. I don't think this is the same thing the others had, they were dead by now. So maybe that was worms of some sort and the med got them.

I thought the hardness of the water wasn't the cause. But wasn't to sure so didn't really like to comment.

Indentations can be parasites as well as meaning other things. Mainly you see indentation on the head region or laternal line.
Never know them to be under the mouth area.

As long as the fish is showing no signs of locked jaw he might live his life out.
Let me know how he gets on if you don't mind.

Well, for the first time since he started loking ill, I've seen him eat for definite :D He had at least 3 bits of food today and swallowed them down.
He still has the odd shape, but he really doesn't seem out of sorts at all. Certainly worth a wait and see :good:

Bless Him.
Thanks for the update.

Got another picture of him today. I haven't seen him actually eat since the other day when I posted. He goes after bits of food but doesn't try to eat them. Still very perky though and acting normally.

See what I mean about him looking like a shark?

Soak his food in garlic juice it meant to boost the immune system and appitite.

Thanks wilder, I'll try that. Just got back from a few days away and he's still with us, but he's massive :/ Didn't eat today. No signs of pineconing, but you can see how fat he is from above. He's slowed down too, much easier to get pics today.

Any thoughts?
I'd like to separate him, think that's worth it? I have a spare 60l tank with nothing in it. I wouldn't want to connect up its filter for him in case he has something contagious. Do you think he'd be OK in there without a filter, just with a heater? I don't have any decoration for it either, would bare be any good?
I've dosed the second lot of medication today and have to do an 80% change sunday. None of the other fish are showing any signs, which is good.

Do you have an airstone.
Seperate him but you will need to keep an eye on water stats.
Add an ornament for him if he wants to hide away.

There is an airstone in the tank he's currently in. I'll set the tank up today and move him tomorrow after the 80% change :good:

Ok.
Let me know how you get on if you don't mind.

I got him into the spare tank yesterday. He was still hard to catch and I may have stressed them all with my ineptitude
There's about 40l of water in there and a heater. I have put tiny amounts of food in but not seen him eat them. He's still wandering about on the bottom and still fat.

Bless him.
Add some epson salt and bactrial med.

By bacterial med, will myxazin do? where do I buy epsom salts?
Thanks for checking in :)
