Yesterday I noticed a jell like substance on one of the tree branches in my Cichlid tank. It appeared to have something inside that appeared to be moving. One of my Yellow Labs, scarfed it up and spit out something that looked like the particles from their food pellets.

Now I understand that Cichlids carry their eggs in their mouth, so it is odd that that is what would have been on the branch leaf. I know that the mosquito fish that I have are live bearers.

Not sure, and I didn't think to get a pic as it all happened relatively fast once I noticed it's presence.

What do you think is was?
