aernympha is right they are very delicate,i was loooking into having them and i decided not too and ive had my tanks for over a year.i'd say they are definatly for ppl that are very experienced fish keepers

basically start off with something easy and work ur way up to those discus like over few years...... thats what i might do , i will only get one when i am more experinced

Heres a link to a great website about Discus, specially for beginners.
Its cuts through the bull a lot of experts come out with to show what
they've 'achieved' with the 'dificult' fish.
One word of advice I saw in a fish mag that rings through everything else:
'Dont take shortcuts with Discus, it WILL humble you'
