im new and i need help

i set my tank up about 2 months ago and it is running quite well. im goin to get some wood and put it in there once i soak it for a while but i need help. i have thought that i might get some java fern. i want to no if it is easy to keep these plants and if they will need much if any fertilizer in my tank. so if any1 can help me plz relpy because i am just a beginner
