So I recently got a new tank decor of the ancient roman ruins in my tank so it has alot of pilars. The angelfish I have seemed to really like it. They kept rubbing up against it and at first I thought nothing of it and my hubby was like "what are they doing!?" and I jokingly said "haha, maybe they are laying eggs" but... they actually are! What should I expect? The white one is female and the striped one is male. Tiger and Alice are their names.

you can barely see the eggs on that!

If this is the 32 gallon with the large plec, expect the eggs to be gone by the morning. Plecs love to eat angel eggs, the pair will have a hard time chasing off a decent size bristlenose. Any larger plec will easily take the punishment doled out by the pair while eating the eggs.

Keeping a dim light on the tank overnight will give the pair better odds of defending the spawn, a lamp next to the tank will help. If the spawn is gone in the next day or two don't worry, angels spawn every 7-14 days. This will give you a chance to get equipment together if you are serious about breeding angels.

What kind of equipment will I need?

Yes it is the one with the large pleco. He's actually in the background of one of the pics. The last one I think.

Should I take him out and put him in my ten gallon until they hatch?

You are better off moving the pair to their own tank, a 20 high is the minimum. The plec will eat the eggs, the smaller fish will try to, but will be driven off. The pair more than probably will eat the eggs themselves once they feel threatened enough, this is common. Some angels end up being parent raisers after a few spawns, some never do.

A small spawn is 200 eggs, a large one 600+. Shops generally won't take angels before they are dime to nickel body size, dimes need 1/2 gallon each, nickels need one gallon each. The minimum you can get by with raising a spawn is a 20 or 29 for the pair, a 10 for initial hatching & growout, and at least a 55, if not two for final growout. These need heaters & filters, you will also be hatching bbs to feed the fry for at least the first 3 weeks.

I have a pinned topic at the top of this section, as my two fat fingers got tired of typing the same thing quite a while ago. If you have any other questions at all, feel free to post here or pm me.
