Hello all.

I'm new here so please be gentle with me! ;)

I consider myself to be a newbie to this hobby. I broke myself in the hard way last september with my first ever aquarium... A Fluval Edge 23l nano-tank. Yeah, I know now that tiny tanks are not good for a beginner, but I stuck with it, got the tank cycled & now a year later with a regular maintenance schedule I am proud to say it's running beautifully with no problems. :)

However, I've been bitten by the bug (you know what it's like) & really want to give my fish a bit more space. So, I got a new tank for my birthday & although it wouldn't be considered 'big' by any standard (Juwel Rekord 700), I'm still excited to have more room to play with!

Of course this does mean I may be looking for some advice on upgrading to a new tank very soon. I really appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks for reading! :D

:hi: to the Forum. In my experience I would suggest getting the biggest tank you can get as possible, I thought my 50 gallon was big. It took me just a couple weeks to realize its not really that big :D gone thru several upgrades.

Plus bigger tanks give you more fish option, gives your fish more room to set their territory and water parameters are more stable. Also depends on what fish you wanna get. If you just like small fish, like guppies, neon Tetras then I dont see the need for a 180 gallon tank.

If you dont mind second hand tanks, you can probably get a nice cheap aquarium from Ebay. They usually come with all the set-up. Good Luck.
