I have a 75 uk gallon Saulosi species tank which currently holds 3 Males and 5 females (getting more females when they arrive at the lfs) and running on a Eheim 2128.

My question is how many can I have, as I want the set up to still be easy to mantain or adding another filter and would it be the same number if I decide to go for half Saulosi and half Iodotropheus sprengerae?

I never got the whole UK gallon thing however I do like my "pint" to be imperial (4 extra wet ounces can't be a bad thing :hyper: ) mo' betta :good: .

Anyhoo, I suppose as long as there are plenty or places to run there shouldn't be any problems (as long as you do the usual cichlid tank details before adding new fish and proper amount of quarantine in another tank :good: ). The cool part and the sad part of keeping cichlids is that they will let you know when you have too many inmates by them killing off the newb  . If it were me (and keep in mind I don't like Mbunas) I'd max out at a dozen (15 tops) so they can grow and spit out fry.

Thanks for that, I think I will stick to just Saulosi's 4 males and 10 females, just cant wait for the male to be fully coloured.
