Im Blasted Fuming

its nothing to do with contracts and such or whether he was paid for it or not, its down to the fact that he had everything here to keep the fish alive and all water testing kits which he knew how to use, even someone with no experience wouldve done a great job with the stuff i had left , he did it because he thought he knew best, not that he generally made a mistake as mistakes happen, but because he has this snooty "i know best attitude" and even though ive lost the fish im glad that for once he been put exactly where he should be "REALITY"

He's not legally obliged to do anything, of course, but it's unlikely anything so catastrophic could have happened overnight. But the fact is that he was trusted (as an apparently experienced fishkeeper) to at least feed them, and he couldn't be bothered. I'd be more than a little annoyed if anyone I trusted did it to me.

Indeed, but people suggesting reporting him to an animal welfare agency, or trying to take him to the small claims court is just ignorance as to how real life works.

Can you categorically say, without doubt, that it was your friend's fault that this happened? Let's be honest, you don't really know what the cause of death in the fish is at this point in time. Underfeeding is likely to take longer than 2 weeks to get rid of 13 fish. While your friend may have been able to prevent what happened, it is perfectly possible he may not have been.

Sorry for your losses. :rip: Not coming to check on your fish because it was too Hot? Geesh talk about a lame excuse. It definately is not too hot in the morning or evening at this time of year. I think he just didn't want to be bothered.
