oh yeah, he wants to use these shells and bits of dead coral and other stuff that were in the tank because he said they were natural. i was thinking that sand would look better, but he says sand is too plain. do you think these shells would be ok?
ONLY if you are going with saltwater or an African cichlid tank. Otherwise, they'll jack the pH up too high for other FW fish, including the blue rams or green terrors...

Maybe try a green or gold Severum. They're a little of the best of both worlds. Nice big fish but aren't TOO mean so you could develop a good community in there with the right tank mates.

If *I* had a spare 75 around, I'd definitely turn it into a saltwater tank!

Pythons can be good and bad. For a first time fill you could just use a garden hose. Doing this it will take about 48 hours with the heater on for the temp to stabilize. If using Sand, expect a good cloud for 24 hours using this method.
Whats bad about pythons?

As they get older the seals weaken and you have to replace the seals or you do not get enough suction to drain a tank and you end up with drips at the connections.

Plus they use up lots of water, which is not always good. :/
