Not seen anything like that before awesome pattern, how big is it? Did you get a common name that it was traded under?

I purchased 3 zodiac loaches and when i got home 2 were the same and i had this as well. to start with i thought it was a zodiac loach but after owning it for a month or 2 and it grew a little i realised it not even the same fish with a different pattern. It dont seem to eat any kinda meat bloodworm etc or flakes, All it seem to eat it my real plants and algae some times.

It about 2inches long and seem to be growing still.

they have something very similar in my local lfs, its 18 inches long  next time im in there i will take a pic and get the name, unless the name is found for you by then :good:

no probs, it has the same markings / color and looks identical in features.

Garra flavatra - Algae eater

Thanks for playing, but this is what you could have won!

(a variation on the tv gameshow "Bullseye" famous quote)

My Panda Garras are nothing like that ;)

Give me 30 minutes, but I'm almost certain I've seen this or something very similar while looking up info on "Hillstream Loaches" during the last week...

Had a quick look around loaches.com and found it might be a Homaloptera species. My guess is either H.Confuzona or H.Orthogoniata

H.Confuzona - http://www.loaches.com/species-index/photo-search/homaloptera-confuzona-image-search
H. Orthogoniata - http://www.loaches.com/species-index/photo-search/homaloptera-orthogoniata-image-search

I would say it is most like H.Confuzona as its pectoral fins have some red but go clear where as H.Orthogoniata has solid red fins. Your fish complicates this a little as his patterning comes down into the pectoral fins but I think that might be down to individual markings

Have a look at H.Confuzona photo called group shot and you will see how they can differ in markings.

Nice fish though and a nice find :)
