It looks like some kind of Gibbiceps to me...

...sorry not much help.

i tought you were getting rid of fish in your tank other than returning them this kid has a 12 gal tank with clown loches black ghost knife fish Common pleco now another pleco i think its a sailfin this is just unbelivable.

I hope you didn't pay much for him, because there's no way that's an L200 like you were told lol.

Hope you have a 4 x 2 x 2ft tank ready for him too...

its all sorted the pictus the black knife went back today so i am making progress.
when did i say it was a L200. he was only cheep £4 and i seen him and he just looked
boss. next i will be returning the clownloach's and mabee the common plec.
thanks for your help

Sorry that was my fault - you said it was labelled as a "green hi-finned spotted plec", which is one of the common names for an L200 or green phantom plec - which for some reason is actually two different species, but neither match yours:

I wasn't 100% sure from the pic if he was a gibby or not, but if he was £4 then that would suggest he is. He'll get to 18-24", and will need a 4 x 2 x 2ft tank. Lovely fish, but quite territorial as far as plecs go.

Tis a good job you didn't pay the going rate for a green phantom, it'd have been nearly ten times that and you'd have been seriously ripped off. :good:

Might be worth looking up your fish before you buy them in future? Must be a pain in the arse going backwards and forwards returning the ones that will get too big for your tank?

Glad your returning your fish god job. but just make sure you do reutnr your common as like lisa said they do get terrotorial. so you might wanna return one or the other! also if you are upgrading dont worry about returning the clown loaches as they grow REALLY SLOWLY and if you upgrade then you could keep them.

it is a real pain going backwards and forwards. so are you suggesting i take
the common plec back or the green spotted hi fin.

does your lfs give you all your money back? because if they dont then whats the point in doing what you do. i never buy a fish that i havent researched about although my lfs has lil info cards say how big they get etc i still research Take back both and get a bristlenose try get a female as they only get about 5" and wont outgrow your tank. like you killifish are perfect for he size tank you have just do what best :)

Why don't you take all the unsuitable fish in your tank back in one go? Then do some research BEFORE you buy anymore?

There are plenty of fish that can live in a 12gal if you look properly
