I have a 10g tank that's had the same fish in it for over a year. A betta, three corydoras, and two nerite snails. Recently I've began adding plants to my tank. One plant I did not soak in anything but that was a few months ago, but the subsequent ones I soaked in potassium permanganate (still got some hitchhiker snails though). Recently, I noticed that on my betta's head, he has these two "humps" on each side of his head above his gills, and on one of the humps there is what almost looks like an ich spot, yet a little fuzzy. Excuse me for the gross example, but it almost looks like a pimple with a whitehead. I would take a picture but all of my cameras are awful and he gets excited when he sees me so I can't get a clear shot.

I do have a different tank I am treating for ich right now, but that tank has a separate gravel vacuum. The only way I can think that any ich could have gotten into the 10g is it somehow magically transfered over from the other tank (I don't know how! The only shared thing was the wastewater bucket, and I let that dry completely before water changes), or it came on the plants somehow. Or I'm just worrying over a fish pimple.

Am I just worrying? Should I assume the worst and start treatment? What do I treat with in a planted tank with snails and corydoras though? I want to keep my nerites and plants alive. I cannot move the fish into the other quarantine to get in with their treatment because it's 5.5 gallons and I have enough fish in there already. And I can't use the medicine I'm using on the other tank because the copper in it will definitely kill my snails, and who knows what it does to plants.

It doesn't sound like ich to me, and there is no obvious way the parasite could have got across (drying out the bucket thoroughly would kill it). I would definitely hold off from using any meds at the moment.

If you see fuzz on your fish it's fungus and you need to treat NOW.

It's such a small pinpoint of "fuzz" though, I'm not sure if it is a fungus at this point. I will wait until this Friday to see if I need to take further action, since I have to go to the petstore to volunteer Friday nights anyways.

Until then, I would appreciate any further comments anyone has on this.

Do daily WC this will healp whatever heal or keep it from getting bad.

As it does not sound like Ich, making sure the temperature stays below 24C should help your Betta, as the growth rate of a fungus or bacteria will be slowed down ;)
