No, he wont have been picked off. These little guys can be a little timid but will look after themselves. That's why they are recommended in African cichlid set-ups.

I have had one in my Tanganyikan tank for a couple or 3 years now.......it loves a courgette now and again but if you don't feed them much they will work very hard over rocks......

It comes out when my blue light is on every night and is still there at lights on in the morning. I got mine for £15 then but I reckon it's worth 3 times that now but no one is having it

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the prices of Rusty Plecos have gone down. In most stores, you should be able to buy them for around £8-£10. 3 of my LFS sell them at these prices

Well that is definitely NOT bad news

My local MA still asks way too much and as I am neither in the market to buy or sell they can carry on asking but cheaper prices elsewhere can only be good for the hobby, eh?

There are some ridiculously expensive MA stores. There is one near me that sells BN pleco babies £10, Clown Plecos £25...

Remember MA are all franchise stores. Prices of fishes can vary a lot. For example a boesemani rainbow can cost between £5 to £7 each in Nottingham. A green tiger barb between £2 and £3 each. With these shoaling fishes, when you buy the recommended numbers, the price difference does add up.

'Tis true........the only fish I ever brought from P@H was the Common Plec in that picture.......cost £2.99 as a tiddler! I only got it because it was is a tank full of Malawis and holding it's own so I thought ideal for my Tang's (plus it was quite a task for the assistant to net it )
