i have decided not to sell, what was my favorite tank, but to keep it and enjoy it, thing is, i havent a clue what to do with it!

i have guppies, siamese fighting fish, platys, neon tetras, rummy nose tetras, golden gouramis, 3 spot gouramis, clown loaches, mollys, plecs, and convict ciclids, goldfish ( no not all in the same tank lol)
i was wanting something else now... any ideas??

the tank is a Rena one, the dims are
31inch longx11.5 inch widex16.5 inch high =96L/21 imp gallons

i have added 4 guppies from my other tank, just to keep the filter going (already cycled),i have added a sand bed, and a few plstic trees (for now) i have managed to scrounge a couple of used slates from a local builder today, tho have no idea what to do with them!
its a nice size tank, and i do like it a lot, but i want it to be a bit spectacular
so any ideas will be gratefully recieved

That's a cute little tank ^_^ hmmm hard to say exactly what to stock it with, myself I'd add some Celestial peral danios (aka galaxy rasboras), mabye some bogwood in the centre with some small plecos (clown plecos, rubber lip or BN) and mabye a trio of sparkling gouramis.

That, or if your more-so into cichlids try some german rams, kirbenses or if your up to the challenge shell dwelling cichlids.

I think dwarf cichlids, based on your background you could build up a few nice rocks on the sand bed but ditch the plastic grasses. Some shell dwellers would be nice in there too as mentioned.

Happy you haven't sold that tank shelagh. I personally would put Kribs in there. They are so colourful, and breeding is fairly easy and very rewarding.

oi whats wrong with my plastic plants?? lol i only put them in as i cant stand an empty tank, believe me they are NOT staying.

what sort of rocks would they need to be mel?

thanks emma, what would be the stocking level if i did go with kribs? and can i have their full name so that i can look into them plz( ok i got it i wasnt sure of the spelling)

Shelagh if you look in the cichlid section of the forum you will get more info on the kribs which are kribensis and also look at some cichlid tank set ups to see the kinds of rocks to use x

Just go with a pair for now. Male and female, and a nice place to "shake their funky thing" . I enjoyed watching them learn how to become good parents, and they have such character.

I'd say more than a pair, the tank will look bare... Try 3 females and 1 male this way your sure to get a pair out of them :D

thankyou ever so much, ill go and have alook today see what i like the look of, i do like the galaxy rasboras tho, have done some reading on all the suggested fish, and as kribs are the most favored, maybe ill go with them

many thanks again :)
