cheers nelly. you say youre 50/50 wether or not to do it in your 5x2x2? id go for it mate it was a mission but nowhere near as bad as i expected and the results are more than worth it. i used argos play sand 60kg of it cost me 11 quid

Actually that's given me inspiration for my Betta Tank that i'm setting up! I was gonna use black gravel, but sand might look better! What sand did you use?

i think i'll be popping to argos and getting 30kg of it, cant complain at just under £3 a bag, i'll make sure its well washed out forst tho as last thing i want is to have to turn my filter off due to floting particles

. thanks i think its a big improvement the playsand already fairly clean but does need a bit of a wash altho nowhere near as much as my gravel did.

thats the only thing im worried about when the rubvbish settles, but hopefully it'll settle ontop of the sand rather than under/in the gravel so will be easier to clean out
