Interesting More evidence that the advice from here of high temps and low ph is right then Seriously awesome work there its a beautiful tank as well.

Equally interesting, Ive been starting to wonder how the more line bred species cope with more standard UK water and tank set ups because I have been seeing some utterly luminous orange gold rams recently and I just keep thinking to my self there is no way those fish can be anywhere near related to their wild relatives any more so I have been pondering how viable the high temp low ph thing is for these more commercially bred strains of the Ramerizi (spelling)

Thats not to say though Katch that your Rams are not utterly stunning because they are

Apart from the Rams I have a pair of Apistos, 6 albino and 6 leopard corys, 6 harlequins, 8long finned leopard danios, 7 rummy nose tetras, 6 celebes rainbowfish, 2 small bn plecs...erm, erm......I think that`s it

You have some loverly fish there, I need a bigger tank also, looks like I might be cutting out the wall to place a bigger tank in this year.

As expected my Rams have now eaten their eggs. They're still very young and it was their first attempt. I did save about 20 eggs or so in a net trap with an air stone. Most of them have gone white and been removed - one or two are a browny colour but I don't think they are fertile. I'll give them a day and see.

How long were the eggs around before they started eating them Katch ? I havent keep any this time as off for a few days ( Or should I attempt too ?) and not sure how to keep them ? Get them off the Root etc.

Would they just blow off with an air stone ?

Also I am due a 20% water change tomorrow, Should I still do this or would it stress the Rams out ?

They had them something short of 48 hours - I used a pippette to take a few eggs. It wasn't easy but I managed to get a few. Mr & Mrs didn't like it though and they attacked the pippette. They settled quickly afterwards and didn't seem overly stressed.

I'd keep up with your water change - it shouldn't stress them much - just do it with the lights off and keep the syphon at the other end of the tank.

If your eggs are starting to go mostly white then it is likely they aren't fertile as is often the case with first batches.

Ok cool Thanks for the pippette tip also. I might give it ago ? How long would they take to hatch ? also would I keep them in a breeding box in the tank (Still a Noobie)
