I Thought Danios Were 'peaceful'

So I'm mid fish in cycle with 4 danios -- the tank has been running for a couple of weeks. One of my Danios is being a complete bastage and harrassing all the others. He is the biggest of course, and especially when I turn the light on, he makes it his duty to torment all the others. One of them is for sure stressed as he barely swims and then kind of floats for a bit before swimming again, and he was kinda floating around the top too.

I'm not really sure what to do in this situation. I'd like to take the bully out, however I don't have another tank nor would I really know what to do. . .

I am having the same issue (3 danios, cycling) ... I was told on this forum that it will ease up once we get to make them into a full school, and that the bullying shouldn't really harm the fish for the time being.

i have 30 odd of them and they are aggressive little things but there is never any damage

I've had Bengal, Glowlight and Pearl Danio before and they always bicker amongst eachother. Most of the time, the biggest danio chases the rest but its nothing serious. They've never harmed any of my other fishes

What about buying yourself a maternity net and put him in there for the time being? Or add another 2.

Alright -- they usually do 'bicker' but this time the biggest was really getting fierce. I guess maybe the added stress of being in there while the tank cycles isn't helping. Regardless, the one who looked pretty bad has toughened up and looks much better today. I think that I am going to get two more today and bring it up to 6 and hope that it helps mitigate some of his aggression (or at least spread it around).

2 more Danios in! Already they seem to be grouping together more and doing less hanging out solo. The big man has to spread his aggression now so hopefully it will help to keep everyone from getting too stressed while the cycle finishes.
