i just dont know what to do :-(

dont give up man, we'v all been there before trust me.

can you post water stats please.

when you added fish was your ammonia and nitrite 0?

did you acclimatise your new fish?

i was doing a fish in cycle and i thought i was done i did a 60% ish waterchange when i added them

the only think i can think of is i left my filter off for about 12 hours by mistake

ill give some waterstats in a bit ive just done a 90% water change and ive switched form gravel to sand as this a happened i thought it would be the perfect time

Don't give up we've all bee there at some point, i remember when i first started wet through no end of fish cause of my LFS

that will be your problem i think i bet you had an ammonia spike

yeah when i just checked before the WC it was 2.0 #### in 24 hours

its so hard keep watching fish die

also one of my tiger barbs looks slighly bloated im not sure if im being paraniod now

You will need to start doing daily water tests and water changes to get the ammonia/nitrite back down, as you know Im sure.

Dont give up, been there myself, annoying and heartbreaking, but you will get there in the end.

deffinately your filter been turned off for so long is what caused the problem, the beneficial bacteria start dying off after a couple of hours. Just dont give up, you'll get there.

Bloatedness can meen a lot of things but i find a great treatment for un-diagnosed bloatedness is cooked deshelled peas, your fish might not eat it straight away as it generally isn't a favourite food but it will once its hungry enough.

after a 90% WC

ammonia 1.0
nitrite 0.25

HOW after a 90% WC is the ammonia that high

also i have some melafix should i add any?

If your ammonia doesn't reduce a little in the next 5-6 hours then do another water change, without seeing or knowing more about the fish then i can't really say if adding melafix is a good idea, its a reasonably mild med though, but your fish are already stressed so adding a med without them needing it could make things worse.

just did another wc ammonia 0.25 and nirite 0

is this filter even doing anything?

surley if ive taken neally 100% of the water out and all the gravel then used a gravel vac on the bare bottom of the tank there should be 0 ammonia

somethings not adding up

Have you tested your tap water ammonia level? Are you using temp matched water to replace, too cold and it could effect the filter bacteria.
