Being so new to live bearers just about everything new excites me. Lol. But I think I see fry eyes in her belly :)

She is very, very close! Keep her in the breeding trap! :good:

yeah, it looks like her birthing tube is opening so she shouldn't be too long. So long as she's not stressed in the trap you can keep her in there

Hope you get some babies soon :)

Well I'm glad I left her in the trap while I slept today :) this is what I woke up to....

There is about 35 fry...

aww brilliant and they all look really healthy aswell

:hooray: congratulations!!

Congrats on the drop nlpiera. It looks like your fry are doing well. If you haven't already done it, it is time to remove that horizontal grate.

They are in the fry tank now and doing great! Can't wait to watch them grow! They all have that orange hint to them like mama so I assume the dad was similar :) I have 3 platy fry from a different fish that are about a month old and are still clear in color. The mom was orange with a bunch of black spots so I can't wait to watch them get older and hopefully get some color

I've raised a lot of platy fry now and I've noticed that they get their colour about 2-3 weeks old and tend to stay that colour. I've had some born with their pintail already there - I thought at first it would develop over time but it never did.

I have some at present - mum was white and dad is yellow/green with black freckles and a black tail and fins. The fry are white with black freckles and black tails and fins - so they've turned out a mixture of mum and dad.

If they are a pale, peachy/orange now they will be plain orange as adults

Hope that helps :)

Thats just fab!!! I have 2 white dalmation mollies that are getting fatter by the day and a hatchery ready for the fry - we found 2 fry a week ago that are in the hatchery tank at the moment and am looking forward to more soon :)
