I Saved One Of My Fish Today

i got back from work earlier to find only 3 buenas aires tetra shoaling. ive got 5, and for them to be not in a group means something is severely wrong, they never leave each others side. yesterday i fished one out of the filter, and hes fine. today i find one tucked behind it, who shoots out when i move the filter, and another underneath/beside it, stuck. i lift the filter out and hes barely breathing, on his side, not really moving. i have no idea how long hes been under there, i last counted 5 when i fed them last night.

i thought about netting him out and killing it, as he seemed well beyond hope. however he slowly made his way up to the surface where he took a big gulp of air. some emporor tetras and a GBR started hovering round him, so i fed the fish to keep them occupied away from him. he was still barely moving, but he was at least upright now and beginning to breath normally. after about 5 minutes of floating about in the current his BA tetra buddies zoomed over, surrounded him, then they all swam off

he is now fine, im going to do a water change in a bit just to help out a bit, but i suspect he will be as normal. good times.

bearing in mind i was only looking in the tank to see if a suspected ill cory had died, it was quite lucky i noticed. if they were less inclined to shoal together, i probably wouldnt have noticed either.
