I Need Some Help - Female Platy

Hoping someone can help me - as the chaps at the tropical centre were usnure.

My female platy became pregnant around January some time, the spot appeared etc; and she is enormous! The problem is no fry, and now in April she is still enormous!! So I am told the fry are dead - which makes sense, but she does not seem to be reabsorbing them; just still getting bigger!!! What is happening to her???

Any advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum Elliewoo.
A platy will not carry fry that long, period. I would start looking at what she is eating and whether or not she is defecating regularly. In a platy it is almost continuous. I suspect that you have a fish that is swollen either by overeating or having some kind of blockage. Have a close look at her. Try to determine if the scales around her middle are sticking out in a pinecone-like fashion. TBH, I would suggest that you post this in the tropical emergencies section. This is not a simple discussion thread but is an illness type of post. Your best bet for decent diagnosis leading to a cure is in that part of the forum.

You could try feeding mushed up peas to help with constipation.
