As to you question, what size tank are you planning on keeping them in, other tank mates? they need a fair bit of room, esp if you end up with spotted silvers which grow big,

At a rough guess i would say 4x2wx2.5h

Ok, well there are a few varietys that stay around 6inchs,, but its finding them correctly id before buying, spotted get big, commonly sold, see my old big brute, tank was 5/2/2...Behind the tinfoil

Yeah there are some, google Metynnis to look at different types, i think hypsauchen,argenteus get around 6inches, rubripinnis get to around 8inchs

Yeah, just make sure you find the right ones before buying, problem is at fish shops there just advertised under silver dollars, well most shops i know...
Also keep an eye on any small fish you might have

I would ceratinly reccomend re-giging stock, not sure but rummynoses maybe a snack, even for the bala sharks, which i would reccomend rehoming, they grow very big indeed, i had four in my 5/2/2 and they needed a bigger tank in the end

Yeah, i heard the balas get big.. i have a new home in mind anyways for them. would be gutted if the rummies were eaten!
