I live in a apartment and the downs stair apartments floor is flooded with water and the person said that wood had been falling off the wall because of the water and she said she was going to call the health department on the landlord because of what happened and this whole apartment building might be condemed if the landlord won't fix the apartment downstairs. So I need advice on how to move all my tanks to another place if I have to.

Sorry to hear about your possible problem. First, I wouldn't stock anything in the 55 gallon until you know. It's a lot easier to move it if you don't have fish. Second, the fish stores may have some insulated containers you can buy to move your fish and keep the temp pretty constant. If not, you can probably get 5 gallon buckets to put them in (how big is the pleco). Try to move about 60% of the water in each tank so you can put it back in and not have to go through a really long acclimation process if the pH of the water at the new location is considerably different from where you are now. Keep the filter media and substrate wet so you don't experience much bacteria loss.
Would it be a good idea to have a pet store hold the fish while I move the tanks like put the filter in there tank and put the fish in the tank that way I can move the tanks without having to move the fish with me?

why dont you wait & see if you need to move first? but if you do then i would start thinking on how to save as much of your tank water as you can also you need to find out where you are gonna move to i.e how far away can you keep the benifical bacteria alive till then? also how will you transport your fish? but as i said at the start wait till you find out whats happining fist if you need to move then ask the same questions. hope you dont have to as moving home on its own is a pain never mind with tanks as well
Well I just found out there is a 90% chance we will have to move because the landlord has evicted 3 people just because they were 1 month behind and another 2 people are moving out and there are only 10 apartments so that would only leave 4 apartments that aren't vacant and one of the people that is getting evicted said she was calling the health department because of how bad her place is and how bad the landlord is treating her so they might condem this place before he gets a chance to evict everyone. I don't know yet where we are moving but we will be looking very soon for a new place just in case. I've called one of my lps and they said to call a few days before we move and see if they have an empty tank to put my fish in. I just hope they or another lps has an empty tank I can put my fish in.

The first thing to do is to relax so you can enjoy the holidays.
There are laws to protect both landlords and tenants. There is nothing the landlord can do that can force you to move immediately unless your parents are being evicted and the case already in the court.
Is you neighbor trying to blame your tanks for the water leaking into her apartment?

No she just said that water is leaking from somewhere and is soaking her carpet and is making parts of the wall fall down because of the wall getting wet and the landlord may shut the place down if the health department doesn't do it first because since he would only have 4 tenants living in his apartment and he was already having trouble renting out the one vacant apartment but now that he will have 5 apartments to try and rent he might shut it down and tell us we have a certain amount of days to move.

I can't blame you at all for being upset. I had to move last August, and believe me, it wasn't fun!
If your parents have a lease, your landlord can't just throw you out, but must wait until the term of the lease is over. Even if they don't, it's most likely that he will have to give them 30 days notice first. It's hard to know what is going on in his mind, but perhaps he is letting the building run down so that once it's empty he can do a big renovation and raise the rents a lot. A lot of landlords do that. I think they can get a tax deduction or something if he loses money too.
The good thing is that you haven't started to set up your 55 gallon tank yet. This will give you extra time to research the fish you are interested in and, even more important, you will be able to set it up first and move all your old fish into it, when you are moving.

2.5g- divided 1 male betta on each side
1g- male betta
pick up and move.
10g- 3 red eyed tetras, 3 x-ray tetras, 2 julli corys
remove 20-30% water, two strong men should be able to pick up and move
long 20g- 3 long finned black tetras, 4 regular black tetras, 1 common pleco:
get to your new place with empty 55gallon, fill 55 gallon about 50% stick in filter from 20G. Go back to old place, grab fish in (Black if available) transport bags. empty 20G tank.
go to new place, put fish into climatising in the 55gallon as you refill the 20G tank, switch filter back. hopefully the fish will by have this time climatised to the treated tap water supply at your new place for placing into the long 20G tank, leaving you with an empty 55gallon tank.
Youd probably need a M-WAV for this (man with a van)
sadly, this is based for myself where it is incredibly easy, our water happens to be so good, i could do a 100% water change without much effect on them without climatising as long as temperature is closely constant. not nice , but possible. if you need to perform extensive treatments to your water, maybe a different story.

Well I haven't gotten the angels yet since I haven't set the 55g up yet. I may have to take the fish from my long 20g and 10g to the lfs and put them in one of their empty tanks and put my filters in the tank and run them so the bacteria will stay alive.Hi Durbkat

if you are 100% deffinitly moving, ask the LFS to keep your fish for you AND ask them if they could keep your filter's running in their tanks so you dont lose beneficial bacteria Makes it a whole lot easier.
Then you can just empty the tanks and move them normally since no fish are in them.
Oh, and a handy tip, when removing your heaters, rap them in newspaper and try and turn down the heat before your remove it otherwise it will probably burst.
