well as you know i started thinking about thining out my stocck and finishing off with 1 stunner. well ive decide to go even more drastic with the thinning and get me a rotkeil sev. . . 7 fish are going monday and friday il be ordering a 4 to 4.5 inch rotkeil.

online from a reputable retailer lol they only got 2 availiable 1 around 4 to 4.5 inches for 48 quid and 1 around 5 for 55 quid.

of course pics will be posted in saps lol

angels pearl gouramis and the single firemouth. so il end up with just my red sev the little green sev the rotkeil the acara and the golden nugget

oh and of course cant forget my little buddies the sand sifting crew of cory schwarzis

never actually seen rotkeils in the flesh just pics of stunning adults so at 4 to 5 inches how much colour should i be expecting to see on a good specemin?

From what Ive read mark, they dont really start to show the red colouration until they reach about 5-6", so not sure what kinda colouration you will see on yours to start with, obviously the more it settles in, the better the colour will become.

LFS near me, is selling redhead severum (ie rotkeil) for £3.99, still very small though, so Im keeping an eye on them to see what they actually turn out like, if they are indeed rotkeil, I shall snap one up, but so far they dont seem to be selling.

rotkeils do seem top command high prices the 1 im getting 1s a choice of 1 thats 10-11 cm £48.50

or 1 thats 11-12 cm £ 55

seems expensive to mee but i gotta have 1 .

having said that if he/she gos in the tank and doesnt get on mith vinny then he will be sold on after all vinnt was my original sev i raised from a pup
