Here's the list I have for a possible haps/peacock tank. Of course, I can't house all of these, but these are the possibilities to pick from.

Feel free to guide me once again, as I'm starting to get a little lost!

*Copadichromis azureus--Haplochromis chrysonotus
*Protomelas sp. "Steveni Taiwan"--Taiwan Reef
*Placidochromis electra--Deep Water Hap
*Otopharynx lithobates--Aristochromis Red Top
*Aulonocara (undetermined peacocks as of yet!)

Here's the background info: 55 gallon tank, looking for color and some size. How many of these fish can I have in this tank?( From what I read, the article said about 9-10??)

Thanks again!

I would say about 7-8 is a good number. You can squeeze in 10, but keep in mind these guys like some space and generally do better in smaller crowds then mbuna. Any one of those will work out just fine in your tank.

Can any of these fish be mixed or would I be able to have 7-8 of one type?

You can mix species, but try to avoid the ones that look very similar so you don't get overly competitive aggression. Something along the lines of trios of 3 species would work well.
