Last Saturday I stripped my Yellow Lab of some of her fry and put them in a plastic breeding trap inside the main tank. The following day they were sucked through the tiny slits in the side. I was gutted.

Well, I left my female to settle for a few days, and I knew that she still had some fry. Unfortunately the 5 gallon tank I was going to use needs a new filter and a heater, so hubby altered the breeding trap, and fingers crossed so far it is working!!

Are you all ready for the technical part?? :D

He cut up one of my stockings and slipped it over the trap so that it completely covers the sides (with the tiny slits). It also covers most of the opening at the top with the exception of the middle. This could be a success!! I might even patent the idea :p

Have added some pics of our highly technical design.
